New Delhi [India], August 10 (ANI): One person died while two others received minor injuries after a building collapsed in the Mahendru Enclave of Model Town on Saturday, Delhi Police said.
“One person died and two others received minor injuries in the building collapse incident,” Delhi Police said.
Earlier, Assistant Regional Fire Officer, CL Meena said, “We received a call for a collapse of a building. Three vehicles were sent by the Delhi Fire Service. This was in a huge area. It was a banquet hall building. The building was very old and it also had a telephone tower on its roof. The tower is tilted on one side. Three injured have been hospitalised. The search operation is going on to see if anyone is trapped. The reason is not yet known but it was an old closed building in a damaged condition.”
An eyewitness and neighbour, Paras said that this was an old banquet hall that had collapsed. It fell around 3 o’clock.
Paras ran away from the spot after seeing the incident. His child also suffered scratches. Some repair work was going on in the rear part of the building, and news came that some people were buried after the collapse. (ANI)
