“Jharkhand’s biggest issue is infiltrators in Adivasis area”: Himanta Biswa Sarma – World News Network

Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], June 23 (ANI): Assam Chief Minister and Jharkhand Assembly election co-incharge Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday said that the biggest issue of Jharkhand is infiltration in tribal areas.
Addressing the media persons and speaking on the issue of CAAA and NRC, Sarma said, “Today if there is any biggest issue in front of Adivasis, that is ‘infiltration’. Recently, our party leader Amar Bawri Ji went to Pakur, the situation has worsened there so much that even the police and security personnel have to address it.”
He alleged that Bangladeshi Rohingyas marry Adivasi women just to grab their land and questioned the Jharkhand Government about measures they are taking against these infiltrators.
He further stated, “The whole Hindu and Adivasi community is infiltrated. The Bangladeshi Rohingyas marry Adivasis women just to grab their land. There is a need to initiate debate on this topic with JMM and it should be asked from them what measures they are taking against these infiltrators. But they lack an answer.”
Taking it further, Sarma asserted, “They talk about Kalpana Soren and their constituency, but to a surprise, BJP has lead in their constituency with 28,000 votes. Even in Chief Minister Champai Soren’s constituency, BJP has won, so the ones who had given the vote to BJP are not Adivasi?”
On the infiltration issue, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “The Central Home Ministry can do everything but who gives them (infiltrators) shelter in the state? The Home Ministry’s work is limited to the borders. The state government gives power to the BSF to work within 50 km of the border, as we have done in Assam, the JMM government should also give full rights to the BSF… The central government does not have power inside the state.”
“If there are 10 Rohingyas in Ranchi, then the central government cannot identify them and send them back. If they want to give the power to the central government, we will welcome it… We will take that challenge,” said Sarma.
Earlier in the day, after the Bharatiya Janata Party organisational meeting at Ranchi for the upcoming assembly elections in the state, Assam Chief Minister and Jharkhand Assembly election co-incharge Himanta Biswa Sarma asserted that the BJP would win the upcoming assembly elections in Jharkhand.
Addressing media persons, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “The party workers are full of enthusiasm. We have won nine Lok Sabha seats. We had already led on 52 Vidhan Sabha seats in Jharkhand in the last Lok Sabha elections. We will win the upcoming (assembly) elections in Jharkhand.”
Assam Chief Minister and Jharkhand Assembly election co-in-charge Himanta Biswa Sarma said Jharkhand’s public has played a big role in the formation of the Bharatiya Janata Party government in the centre.
He also expressed confidence in the party’s win if the assembly elections are conducted today.
At a press conference, the Jharkhand Assembly election co-incharge spoke about the party’s preparations for the upcoming elections and stressed the party’s win on nine Lok Sabha seats which was synonymous with 52 assembly seats.
Also, Union Minister and Jharkhand Assembly election in-charge Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Assam Chief Minister and Jharkhand Assembly election co-incharge Himanta Biswa Sarma held a meeting to discuss the strategy for the upcoming Assembly elections.
Chouhan and Sarma planted trees at ICAR, Namkum campus and Lichi Bagan in Ranchi’s Hatia area, respectively, as part of the party’s ‘Ek ped maa ke naam’ drive.
Along with Jharkhand, Haryana, Maharashtra, and Jammu and Kashmir will also undergo Assembly polls. The terms of the existing Jharkhand Legislative Assembly will end in January 2025 and the Election Commission (EC) has kicked off preparations for holding Assembly elections. (ANI)
