BSF organises “Grow with the Trees” plantation drive in Srinagar – World News Network

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], July 6 (ANI): Border Security Forces (BSF), in association with SBI Bank, organised a “Grow with the Trees” plantation drive at BSF Headquarters in Srinagar on Saturday.
With the aim of creating a green environment and promoting the importance of tree plantations, the BSF officials and Jawans, along with the officials from SBI Bank and the school children at the Kendria Vidyalay at the BSF Headquarters, took part in the drive.
The initiative is expected to not only help create a more sustainable environment but also foster a sense of community and teamwork among the participants.
Speaking to ANI, Commanding Officer Rajive Barduwaj said, “The aim of the plantation is to make the campus here greener and to reduce the impact caused by global warming on the planet. Our forces play a vital role in doing so; our campuses in Rajasthan and other dry areas are also surrounded by greenery because of such drive… We have seen that this time the temperature has gone very high and everyone has been requested to plant a tree… If everyone in the country plants a tree, then there will be 140 crore trees, which will help to contain the rising temperature.”
“Global warming has been a very big problem, and we can make such small efforts to contain it. The State Bank of India is the biggest bank in the country, and it has always served the country. Because of it, it has also become our moral responsibility towards the environment as well…Pan India, we are organising such drives and we are planting trees wherever it is possible,” said SBI Branch Manager Nishan Sinhi.
The plantation drive was a success, with numerous trees being planted in that area and also keeping a promise to continue the efforts to maintain a green and healthy environment in the area. (ANI)
