New Delhi [India], April 2 (ANI): After the Supreme Court granted bail to Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh, Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi has said that the investigation was going on for two years but not a single evidence was found.
Oberoi also emphasized that it has been proved that truth may be delayed but is never defeated.
“Today our party leader Sanjay Singh has got bail and there is an atmosphere of happiness. AAP has always said that every one of our leaders has been jailed in a fake case. The investigation was going on for two years but not a single evidence was found. It has been proven that truth may be delayed but truth is never defeated. Sanjay Singh is called the lion in the party,” she said.
“AAP has always worked for the public. Providing good health and education is not a crime,” she added.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday granted bail to Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh, who was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) last October in an alleged money laundering case related to the Delhi liquor policy scam. He spent six months in jail.
Singh assured the Supreme Court that he will not make any comment about his role in liquor policy irregularities matter.
A three-bench led by Justice Sanjiv Khanna directed to release of Sanjay Singh on bail during the pendency of proceedings in a money laundering case relating to excise policy irregularities.
Additional Solicitor General SV Raju appearing for the respondent Directorate of Enforcement stated that the probe agency has no objection in case the appellant -Sanjay Singh is released on bail during the pendency of the proceedings.
The top court was hearing AAP leader Sanjay Singh’s plea against the Delhi High Court order refusing to grant him bail in the excise policy irregularities case.
