Narmadapuram / Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) August 2 (ANI): Five gates each of Tawa Dam and Bhadbhada Dam were opened on Friday because of heavy rainfall in the Narmadapuram and Bhopal region in the last 24 hours.
Tawa Dam is built on the Tawa River and it is located in Narmadapuram District while Bhadbhada Dam is built on Bada Talab (upper lake) in the state capital Bhopal.
Sub Divisional officer (SDO) of the Tawa Dam Project, N K Suryavanshi said, “There was heavy rainfall in the catchment area of the Tawa dam, in the Pachmarhi region. The gate of the dam was opened for the first time in this season, he added.

Additionally, the full tank level of Bhadbhada Dam is 1666.80 feet and the water level has touched the bar as a result of which the five gates of the dam were opened to manage the excess water.
